A quick and effective way to retrieve accidentally deleted files

The UndeletePlus application was designed to be a small utility that scans your hard drive for all files that can be undeleted and attempt to salvage the file for you.

Sounds like magic? It isn't. You might not know it, but when you tell Windows to erase a file, Windows essentially does something like say "okay, I am now going to consider this file null and void, and will allow other data writing operations to use the space that it occupies". In other words, no actual 'erasing' of the file occurs until Windows has a need to write over the hard drive space where that the file resides. UndeletePlus and programs like it do a thorough scan for files that are 'still there' on the hard drive and/or files that have enough data remaining that they can be salvaged.

Of course, the sooner you attempt to recover the file the better your chances. Also, smaller size files have a higher chance of being salvaged, and disks that have not been defragmented are better candidates for file recovery.

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly getting ready to come up with a new Buy-One-Get-One promotion for its BlackBerry devices. Verizon’s already popular ‘Buy one BlackBerry, get one free’ sale gets launched for the back to school time, and it comes with a new feature, something that might not have been expected. To start with the beginning, we should say that the BOGO promotion will actually be called BOGA.


What this means is that users will not be confined to choosing a second BlackBerry when purchasing one, but will be able to choose other devices as well, including netbooks and mobile broadband devices. The promotion reportedly applies to all BlackBerry devices available with the wireless carrier, including the Tour, Storm or Pearl Flip.

The deal comes with a rebate, BGR notes, yet still looks like a great option, considering the fact that users will have the opportunity to choose another BlackBerry phone for free, or a netbook, PC card, or USB modem. Moreover, the MiFi seems to have also been included in the offer, so it's all for the best. Starting today, Verizon customers can benefit from the new BOGA promotion, but there is no hurry, it seems, as the offer is set to run until October 10.

Considering the length of the new promotion, as well as the recent price drops Verizon operated on its smartphones, there are great chances that the company is getting ready to add some new devices to its offering. Some of them have already been rumored (such as Motorola's Sholes or RIM's Storm 2), and it shouldn't be too long before the carrier announces them officially, though the fourth quarter seems to be the time frame when most of them should reach the market. - automatically closes/exits the application if you cancel to enter the password in the lock form. This saves memory for the normal phone usage.
