Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly getting ready to come up with a new Buy-One-Get-One promotion for its BlackBerry devices. Verizon’s already popular ‘Buy one BlackBerry, get one free’ sale gets launched for the back to school time, and it comes with a new feature, something that might not have been expected. To start with the beginning, we should say that the BOGO promotion will actually be called BOGA.


What this means is that users will not be confined to choosing a second BlackBerry when purchasing one, but will be able to choose other devices as well, including netbooks and mobile broadband devices. The promotion reportedly applies to all BlackBerry devices available with the wireless carrier, including the Tour, Storm or Pearl Flip.

The deal comes with a rebate, BGR notes, yet still looks like a great option, considering the fact that users will have the opportunity to choose another BlackBerry phone for free, or a netbook, PC card, or USB modem. Moreover, the MiFi seems to have also been included in the offer, so it's all for the best. Starting today, Verizon customers can benefit from the new BOGA promotion, but there is no hurry, it seems, as the offer is set to run until October 10.

Considering the length of the new promotion, as well as the recent price drops Verizon operated on its smartphones, there are great chances that the company is getting ready to add some new devices to its offering. Some of them have already been rumored (such as Motorola's Sholes or RIM's Storm 2), and it shouldn't be too long before the carrier announces them officially, though the fourth quarter seems to be the time frame when most of them should reach the market. The service is also able to lock the phone and keypad. When the phone is locked, you or somebody else have to enter the password in order to unlock and continue to use the phone as normally. The same password is used for any lock/unlock action in order to have an easy use.

- you can select and lock as many as applications you wish.
- allows you to set the lock mode. If set on ''When shown'', the password to unlock the application is asked every time when you or somebody else try to use the locked application. If set on ''Use autolock'', the password to unlock the application is asked only the first time. The password will be asked later only after the inactivity time you have set in the settings.
- automatically closes/exits the application if you cancel to enter the password in the lock form. This saves memory for the normal phone usage.
- able to disable the lock if charging. This helps when you drive the car and you have plugged the phone in the car''s charger. If you plug-in the charger and enter the password, the applications will no more be locked as long as the charger is plugged-in. You can use the phone as normally and you will not be disturbed by the lock service while you are driving. When you plug-out the charger, the applications will automatically be locked again.
- all applications lock settings can be changed (enabled/disabled).

* Phone Lock key features.

- able to lock after the phone is powered-on (lock at boot).
- you can set an autolock period after which the phone is automatically locked (1-30 minutes).
- the phone can be locked by the long press of a key (hotkey). You can define the hotkey long press period between 1 to 10 seconds and choose the hotkey from a list.
- locks the phone if the case (slider or cover) is closed or opened.
- able to lock the keypad also when the phone is locked.
- disable the phone lock if charging. This works similar like for the applications lock described above.
- all phone lock settings can be changed (enabled/disabled).

ZXREADER

As a person which occasionally read ebooks on my Symbian-powered handset, I also, like Dotsisx, used the MobiReader. Seeing the issues of the ceasing of development for this ebook reader is also one of the reasons why I’ve never bought a book from the Mobipocket Store however much I’ve been tempted.

Well putting that aside, there is a new kid in town and it’s called ZXReader. For one, it fixes the main problem that Mobireader faced on touch handsets from Nokia – being forced to uninstall and reinstall the application when going into fullscreen mode. Secondly, it offers a wider range of customization such as if you want a function triggered when pressing a specified portion of the screen. (Only applies to the touch enabled version of the application).

However, being an ebook reader and free has its huge catches, in this case the support for file formats being .txt and .fb2 files. Text files means that there’s no formatting of the text besides not always being standardized. The FB2format is an ebook format based on XML, which originated from Russia and this means that finding PC software to convert ebooks to this format can be a bit tedious.

You can also compare this game to the GTA-like game, Payback.

This game is not too hard. You just need to complete missions to earn money and you can add addresses to your GPS to complete missions faster.

As for the difference to Payback, it’s difficult to tell which is better. Personally I liked Payback better in terms of the fun factors of the game itself and the missions.

But Car Jack is easier to understand the game, car drive is easier and the whole atmosphere is better. You can simply enjoy the crimes and the mission with this one. It really depends on your taste!
